SKYE PARTERS has provided legal advice to Phoenix Games UK Limited (“Phoenix Games”), founded by serial entrepreneur and investor Klaas Kersting, on the on the acquisition of a minority stake in Leamington Spa-based mobile games company, Midoki Limited (“Midoki”). Phoenix Games is a leading European mobile games conglomerate; the seller King.com Limited (“King”) is a leading interactive entertainment company with game studios and offices in six countries across Europe.
As part of the acquisition, Phoenix Games will acquire the sole publishing rights to the mobile-action RPG Knighthood developed by Midoki. Published by King in 2020, Knighthood has been downloaded more than five mio. times and was Awarded Best RPG at the Pocket Gamer Awards in 2021.
Midoki has already enjoyed great success with other games in its portfolio, including the popular RPG “Plunder Pirates”. Phoenix Games will supply Midoki with its range of uplift-products to maximise Knighthood´s potential through target user acquisition, advertising monetization and the use of live-ops.
