SKYE PARTNERS has provided legal advice to Schneider Group (“Schneider“), a portfolio company of the Swiss investment company INVISION (“INVISION“), on the acquisition of a majority stake in Globaltrans Internationale Logistik GmbH (“Globaltrans“). The closing of the transaction is still subject to clearance by the German antitrust authorities. The parties have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transaction.
INVISION acquired Schneider in 2015.
SKYE PARTNERS had already provided legal advice to Schneider and INVISION in the acquisition of a majority stake in the German logistics company apriori transport & logstics GmbH in 2020. With the help of its shareholder INVISION, Schneider is now successfully continuing its buy-and-build strategy with the acquisition of Globaltrans.
Since its founding in 1997, INVISION has successfully developed into one of the leading investment companies for corporate succession and growth financing for medium-sized companies in Europe. During this time, INVISION has invested in more than 50 companies and achieved sustainable increases in value. INVISION sees itself as an entrepreneurial partner to founders, entrepreneurs and management teams. In its investments, INVISION places particular emphasis on understanding the specific needs of companies and entrepreneurs and developing individual solutions.
The Schneider Group, founded in 1865, is an internationally oriented medium-sized forwarding company. At more than 51 locations in Switzerland, Europe, the USA and Asia, and with the help of a worldwide network of partners, the logistics specialist plans and coordinates cross-border freight transport for its customers. In addition to road, sea and air freight, Schneider offers comprehensive services, especially in the areas of customs clearances, logistical value-added services and special services.
The Düsseldorf-based company Globaltrans, founded in 2004, is one of the leading medium-sized forwarding and logistics companies on the European market with a particular specialization in international air and sea freight. In addition to its own branches in Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Munich and Frankfurt am Main, Globaltrans also has access to the most important trading centers in Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America, South Africa and the Middle East through exclusive partner agencies.
SKYE PARTNERS’ team of advisors, specialized in Private Equity & Venture Capital, advised Schneider in cooperation with INVISION once again on the legal issues required for the transaction.
