SKYE PARTNERS advised EHM Holding GmbH (EHM), the founders of of InnoGames GmbH (InnoGames), on a further partial sale to the Swedish media group Modern Times Group MTG AB (MTG) and on the subsequent establishment of a joint Games Vertical.
MTG takes over a further 17 percent of the shares in InnoGames, Germany’s leading developer and publisher of mobile and online games, increasing its shares to a total of 68 percent. The price for the additional shares is EUR 106 million. A key component of this transaction is the establishment of a gaming group MTG Gaming AB, which initially includes InnoGames and Kongregate (USA). The InnoGames founders will hold approx. 28.15 percent of the shares in the group. Further acquisitions of gaming companies are planned by the group.
InnoGames is Germany’s leading developer and publisher of mobile and online games. The Hamburg-based company is best known for Forge of Empires, Elvenar and Die Stämme. InnoGames’ entire portfolio includes seven live games and several mobile games in production. Started as a hobby, InnoGames now employs more than 400 people from over 30 nations who pursue the goal of creating unique games that offer players from all over the world years of fun.
MTG (www.mtg.com) is a Swedish-based strategic holding company specializing in eSports and gaming entertainment, the shares of which are listed on Nasdaq Stockholm ((‘MTG A’) and (‘MTG B’)).
